My favorite pizza on the planet comes from L&B Spumoni Gardens, but I feel like if that was my one recommendation, I would be committing a crime. Instead, I'd suggest a slice from Luigi's in Sunset Park.
the sicilian slice with pepperoni at Fazio's in bushwick is the best in our area. Fazio's is a true neighborhood gem that I think really outshines some of the older pizzerias in bushwick.
You never have to apologize for puns here. Yeah Ops is fantastic (before everyone knew about it), and Archie's has that great clam pie nearby too. But Fazio's has that old school charm that I remember as a college kid (2 slices and a coke for $5!) that really gets that nostalgia going :)
Scarr's sicilian pie slice is a square that's delicious -- plus great stretch on the cheese and a hearty tomato sauce -- doesn't make you feel bloated afterwards. Makes the spicy spring seem overrated in comparison.

I think I’ve only had the traditional slice at Scarr’s. It’s pizza I’ve gone far out of my way for before.

not a slice joint but Kingsbridge Social Club is the best...also Untitled Pizza Movie at Metrograph is the must watch right now!
