• As the city's first legal cannabis shops are ready to open, community boards don't know their role in the process. The state's law makes community boards advisors on whether the state should approve a dispensary location, but details on how are unclear. This is in contrast to the process for approving alcohol licenses, where the procedures are well-established. (Haidee Chu and Gabriele Poblete for The City)
