The MTA is blaming apps like Uber and Lyft on the sharpest declines of subway and bus ridership in decades, and not unreliable subway and bus service causing the sharp rise of use of e-hail apps. 56,000 trains were delayed in June, and the percentage of trains that didn't reach the end of their runs on time doubled since 2012 from 16.3% to 32%, but yeah, it's Uber that is causing the decline in ridership.
